Joyce Babatunde is one of the creams of the crop when it comes to World Music in Cameroon. Her music is a combination of poetry, rhymes and robust vocals.
“Merry Go Round” is a story of love and loss. but most importantly, rising from the ashes like a phoenix – and finding meaning and purpose in pain. Musically it belongs to an experimental genre that fuses elements of Folk, Afro Soul, and a contemporary Njang rhythm (a genre particular to the Northwest Region of Cameroon).
