At the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, Sonita shattered barriers by squatting an astonishing 300.5 kilograms, setting a new open-world record. This monumental achievement not only established her as the first woman in the history of powerlifting to officially squat over 300 kilograms but also earned her the distinction of holding the heaviest female raw squat in powerlifting, irrespective of federation.

Sonita’s dominance didn’t end there. She went on to total 708 kilograms, setting another world record, although it would soon be surpassed by another competitor. Nevertheless, her contributions to the sport remain indelible, inspiring countless athletes around the globe to push their limits and redefine what is possible in powerlifting.
