A coup d’etat has been successful in the West African nation of Guinea Conakry today Sunday, September 5, 2021, and their 10 years President Alpha Conde was arrested by the mutineers. A former legionary of the French army, Colonel Mamadyn Doumbouya, who was recalled to Guinea to head the GPS created in 2018 and his men is said to have carried the act.
We got information that Special forces that rebelled against him went to arrest him at the Presidential Palace and took him to an unknown location. The President, Conde who is 82 of age, news got to us that he won his 3rd term last December against the Former Prime minister in a highly disputed election since France was supporting him.
Statement gotten from the Head of the coup in Guinea states the reason behind the coup; “I’m Dumbuya and I’m forming CNRD which will steer the country through Transition. I have dissolved the Parliament and Government. I’m ordering the suspension of the Constitution and ordered the closure of the land, border, and air space. My motive for the takeover is because of Rampant corruption, mismanagement, and hardship.”
